Aacchen also known as Azarro

Aacchen also known as AzarroSire: Aachen was born 02 April 1984 and was from Argentinus' first foal crop. He was bred by Theodor Schöning of Lindern-Vahren, Germany. Aachen achieved high jumping marks in his Stallion Performance Test (HLP) (3/45) with 138.19 points at Adelheidsdorf, Germany in 1987. He finished eleventh overall with a total of 118.64 points (11/45).

He was imported to Australia from West Germany in March, 1988 and exported back to Germany in 1992. Aachen stood at Belcam-Klatte Farm with Ulrich Klatte, Heinrich Klatte's brother during his time here. Whilst in Australia, he won up to elementary dressage and was reserve champion novice horse at the New South Wales championships at the age of four.

Upon return to Germany, Aachen was sold to the international show jumper Holger Wulschner from Mecklenburg, Germany. In 1995, Holger Wulschner and Aachen took eighth place at the German Championships, won many advanced level jumping tests and even placed up front in puissance. In 1996 they also placed at CHIO in Aachen, Germany. After his career in international jumping, Aachen participated in dressage with Holger Wulschner's wife, Iris Wulschner.

Azarro's son, Astello (Azarro/Distello/Domschatz), won the 1997 approval in Mecklenburg and a year later he participated in the Bundeschampionat for riding horses. Several of Azarro's off spring have already placed in advanced level, including the mare Amber (Azarro/Abendfee/) (1996), who was sold to Canada after taking place in the Bundeschampionat finals for six year old jumpers. Amber now resides in Thailand competing with her owner Sira Konglapamnuay.

Argentinus

Alexandra Klatte and ArgentinusGrand Sire: Argentinus, born 15 February 1980. He was bred by Jacob Büther, Hollern, Germany and was sold as a weanling to Jan Munderloh. Heinrich Klatte senior discovered Argentinus during the pre-selections for Oldenburg approval. At the Oldenburg approval, the Waldlöwe son, Waldstern, became Champions Stallion and Argentinus received 1b Premium. Argentinus moved to Zuchthof Klatte in Klein Roscharden, Lastrup, Germany as a two and a half year old post pre-selections and stood there till his death in 2007, aged twenty seven.

In 1983 at his stallion performance test in Adelheidsdorf, Germany, Argentinus placed third (3/54) with a score of 126 points and was licensed in Verden the same year. In 1984 he was awarded 1a Main Premium on account of his excellent offspring. Picture (above left): Alexandra Wright (née Klatte) jumping Argentinus. Unfortunately, Falkland was not licensed or performance tested in Germany prior to coming to Australia. Stallions by Falkland included Falkland Victory and Falkrich (jumping stallion of the Year, 2007).
